Halloween Paper Decorations

Bloody Poms...

Turn pretty tissue poms into a hanging bloody mess!

Click on the link to my how to party decorations to learn how to make poms.

After you finished your accordion fold and tied the center.
Instead of drawing a rounded or pointed design, make long straight cuts.
Once you separate the pieces this will mimic dripping blood.
Make some black poms to contrast.

 Fang Garland

SUPPLIES:

White card stock OR stiff felt w/ adhesive (Michael's) & a contrasting color card stock for your background.

String OR fishing line (clear beading string works too)

Double sided tape OR hot glue

Scissors

Hole punch Grommets (Michael's) - That's if you want to get fancy.

Red & Black markers

Print the image above to use as your template. Or you just draw free hand as I did below.

Cut out your template and trace onto white card stock.
I've found using a stapler when cutting multiple pieces of paper at once keeps them in place.
Cut in between teeth for more detail or you can use a marker. I like this look better.
Using a red marker color the points of the fangs.

Now choose a contrasting color for your background I chose light gray. Use a glue stick and space out your fangs. Draw an outline around your fangs leaving some space between the fang and your paper.
When you're all done cutting them out, us a hole punch and then string together. You can also use clear fishing line or string and hang them individually.

How To: Party Decorations

*Tissue Paper Poms*

Supplies:
5-7 packs of assorted colored tissue paper (Use more or less depending on how many and how big you want them to be)

Scissors

String (Ribbon, twine and/or fishing line)

Pencil

Ruler

Tape or Stapler (optional)

First lay out 4-6 sheets of tissue. Making sure they are all aligned and even.
(you can also alternate colors ie: pink, brown, pink, brown)

Fold in half. Vertical for smaller and fuller pom or horizontal for larger fluffier pom.

Begin an accordion fold about an inch till you get to the end.

Find the center, cut your ribbon and tie around with a loop so you have a place to attach a string for hanging.
(use a piece of tape to secure the ribbon in place)

Draw a curved or pointed edge. Then cut it out with your scissors.

Fan out and begin to gently pull each piece up and towards the center.
Continue doing the same on the bottom. Attache ribbon or string.

Now it's ready for hanging!

ROCK THIS BIB! ::DIY STUDDED BIB::

SUPPLIES

  • Scissors (I use FRISKARS they cut anything)

  • Glue gun

  • A bandana OR an old hankerchief

  • Old belt (MUST be studded!)

  1. Cut your belt into squares. I did 5 but you can cut how ever many you wish to add to your necklace. (Set aside)
2.    Next take your bandana/hankerchief/fabric and make a pattern. It really doesn't matter what kind. I just went with a simple half circle. Make sure to have 2 patterns of the same size.
3.    Using the same fabric (or you can use a ribbon) to make to strips about 12-16 inches in length. Or have ever long you want. You have to make sure they're long enough to tie around your neck.
4.      Now take one piece of your pattern and flip it over, glue each strip to the back. Next glue your other pattern right on top to conceal the strips of fabric or ribbon that may be exposed.
5.      Figure out the placement of your studded squares, glue them in place!

The fabric I used was too thin and frayed easily, I suggest using something thicker, like felt.

6.       If you prefer, trim the excess fabric. Like so...

NOW IT'S READY TO ROCK!!

TURN AN EARRING INTO A BOLD RING!

I really don't wear earrings. I like them but don't wear them so when I see a pair that catches my eye, I turn them into another type of wearable jewelry such as a ring! I have bunches of rings all shapes and sizes. Here's what you'll need to make your own:

  • A pair of circular disc shaped earrings
  • Ring base (sold at Michaels, etsy.com)
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Gorilla Glue (bonds metals)
::Found these @ Target::
::Detach the earring from the pendant::

::Glue your ring post to your pendant::

::Let dry. Then it's ready to wear!::
